Jai Ragunathan is a faculty member in the School of Fisheries and Ocean Technology at the Marine Institute, Memorial University of Newfoundland. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, applied research, and workforce development, he has dedicated his career to advancing sustainable ocean industries and blue economy growth.An internationally recognized speaker, Jai has delivered keynote presentations and technical talks throughout North America, the Caribbean, and India on topics including ocean technology, autonomous systems, underwater vehicles, green shipping, climate resilience, and blue economy development.His work focuses on building connections between education, industry, research, and innovation ecosystems to support workforce development and sustainable ocean growth. Throughout his career, he has contributed to curriculum development, international partnerships, applied research initiatives, and capacity-building programs that strengthen the global ocean sector.Jai is passionate about fostering collaboration among academia, industry, government, and communities to advance ocean innovation and support a sustainable future for the world’s oceans.
