Laura Englehart is a member of the Listuguj Mi’gmaq First Nation after graduating from the University of New Brunswick Fredericton in 2017 with concentrations in both accounting and human resources management. She has a background in accounting, retail banking, and First Nation economic development. She is currently working as the Economic Development Manager at the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI), located in the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people. Within her role at JEDI, she oversees and leads many initiatives and programs around capacity development in multiple industries for Indigenous Entrepreneurs, Community Economic Development. She also is motivated and passionate about reducing barriers for Indigenous participation in various economies through her advocacy work within her role at JEDI and beyond.
